Transdev and its shared mobility technology partner Liftango are part of the NSW Government’s ‘Sports Hopper’ trial in the Sutherland Shire in Sydney, Australia. This Sports Hopper trial will be operated as part of Transport for NSW’s On Demand pilot program.

For six Saturdays of the netball season from July 20, the Sports Hopper trial will take players and their families to and from the Gymea area to the Bellingara Road Netball Complex.

Minibuses, operated by Transdev, will help get all the young sports stars to and from their weekend games.

The trial will run with game times in mind and children aged ten and over can travel independently.

Parents juggle multiple responsibilities on the weekend and sometimes need to drive kids to 2 or 3 different sporting grounds.

The Sports Hopper aims to eliminate weekend stress and parking pain for parents and reduce traffic congestion.

The minibuses are fitted with a booster seat, so they can take children as young as four-years-old.

It’s easy to catch. People can book and pay online from 14 July at www.sportshoppper.com.au or via the SportsHopper app. The app also has real time tracking so you know exactly when it will arrive. Bookings can be made 7 days in advance and up to 30 minutes before travel.

Transdev also operates buses, light rail, ferries and On Demand services in Sydney.
